Dear Archer Farms
Sent: April 11, 2008Dear Archer Farms,
I love your products. Well, the potato chips anyway. I've bought some of the other things like various pastas and such, but didn't like those as well. Your four cheese pasta wasn't very good, and I wasn't that big of a fan of the crackers I had, but then I like potato chips better than crackers regardless.
Thanks,
Christopher L. Jorgensen

My reaction:
I do really like the Archer Farms® products for the most part. This letter contains no falsehoods.
It’s hard to fault a company that sends you $6 just for writing, but I’m up to the challenge! Seriously, I only found two minor things wrong with their letter. Someone needs to up the resolution on poor Thomas’s signature. It looks like it was signed on a Lite-Brite® by someone on a gerontology ward! And also, if you’re going to give me a name, give me two. Thomas what? Don’t want me calling you at home? Make one up! I know lots of places that do this. Their employees get names like “Brandy,” and “Candy,” and “Lolita® McDonald.”
And what’s up with the ®? A small line of text at the bottom of your letter telling me you own these trademarks works for me, but to write a letter to a consumer and include these inline breaks the flow. This letter is otherwise very personal seeming, and you can tell they actually read my letter!
