Dear Coke
Sent: April 10, 2008Dear Coke,
I honestly like Coke better than Pepsi, but I like Mt. Dew more than Mello Yello, so I am confused by which soda company is my favorite. So I decided to write this letter and ask for some free stuff. I'm sending this same letter to both companies. The one that sends me cooler swag will be my official favorite beverage maker!
Thanks,
Christopher L. Jorgensen

My reaction:
Looks like Pepsi is my official favorite beverage maker on a few counts.
- They responded much quicker (8 days faster than Coke).
- Their stickers were cooler.
- Their letter seemed more genuine.
- It was hand signed by a person with a last name
- They sent a pencil too.
I am going to drink Pepsi products exclusively for a year, not to punish Coke, but rather to reward Pepsi. Don’t get me wrong, Coke went above the call of duty, but the line about “we do not have funding set aside for large premium items” bugs me. Why say that at all? Why not, like Pesi, just throw in the stickers and say, “Here you go!” I did get the impression that Coke actually read my letter. I’m not sure Pepsi did, but their marketing speak is good at faking it.
