Dear Nike

Dear Nike,

I have a pair of Nike running shoes. I would give you the model of shoe, but I don't see that on them anywhere. I bought them a year or two back. I usually buy cheap assed shoes from Payless Shoes, because they are cheap and comfortable, but I was convinced I'd get into the spirit of running with the whole Nike+ thing and would be out hitting the track everyday! I am happy to report I've gone running at least twice since I got these shoes and if I lace them up real tight I seem to be able to run pretty fast, but I didn't get into the habit like I wanted to.

Anyway, the surprising part is how long them have lasted. My Payless Shoes shoes would have been falling apart by now, but I am expecting to get another 3 or 4 years out of these things.

I should get around to taking the little sensor out of the shoe though. Putting that in there was pretty dumb of me. I should have known I wouldn't get around to doing any actual running.

Sincerely,

Christopher L. Jorgensen

My reaction:

Yawn, boilerplate. I tried to go to www.NIKEiD.com to get jackassletters.com shoes, but the customization page won’t load for me. At least they wrote back. So few companies even do this. I’m not quite sure what the point is when you are as boring as this, but oh well.

Boilerplate, yes but there is at least 1 line: “technically designed athletic products to enhance performance” which I’m sure you could work into a letter worthy of posting ;)

For some insane reason I’m focused on this Nike site. Tried to customize a pair for you but not knowing what kind of shoe you like (running, basketball, baseball, training), the colors, or what size you wear, I was finding it rather difficult. The biggest challenge was personalizing it for you. I could get JACKAS ASLETT, JACK ASSLET, JASS LETTER but not JACKASSLETTERS.COM. Being a rather undecisive person I decided the hell with it. Somebody outta write a letter!

Too bad they didn’t send you a new pair of sneakers, or at least Nike insoles. I’m a huge sneakerhead and Nike is my second favorite brand, first being Adidas. I have way to many pairs in my collection so I guess I’m good for a few decades.
