Dear Gordon Brown

Dear PM Gordon Brown,
I don't know if you follow politics on this side of the pond, but recently there's been this hoopla over here about allegations of President-elect Barack Hussein Obama holding dual citizenship. Some idiots are claiming he's a dual national and has British citizenship because his father was a British subject. As you may already know, our Constitution requires our Presidents to be a US citizen (sorry, you're out of the running. Ha ha!).
The idea of Barack Obama being anything other than a 100% loyal American is just plain poppycock! So I thought it best if I went right to the source and asked if you could look into it and come out and say it isn't true! Well, unless it is true (that would be embarrassing).
I am going to ask you straight up, is President-elect Barack Hussein Obama also secretly a subject of Her Majesty's? I promise I'll let people over here know what you say. I'm hoping he's not just 50% loyal American, but will brace myself for the worst.

Dear Mr. Jorgensen,
Thank you for your letter dated 9 December 2008 - it is always good to hear from former colonials! Sorry for the slow response - I have been very busy nationalising 72.3% of all businesses in the United Kingdom which has kept me pretty busy but according to the Chancellor of the Exchequer we will be through this credit crunch by the third quarter of this year.
I have had a whole team of civil servants looking into this matter as I feel that it is an important issue. I can confirm that he is indeed a British subject!!! The clinching evidence was when he ordered a warm ale when he visited the UK recently.
I hope you are not too disappointed that constitutionally Mr Obama can’t be your 44th president but these rules are there to protect you or you may have had or would have in the future a President Schwarzenegger and after speaking to my fellow leaders of the United Nations after the last eight years we are all pretty tired! I will leave it up to you whether you announce this to the world - personally I think he is a jolly good sort of a chap and would like to see him in the White House.
I would really like to send a photo to your girlfriend [Redacted] but due to my resurgent popularity (no one has thrown shoes at me!) I have had a run on my photos and am awaiting a new batch to be delivered.

My reaction:
I am pretty sure this isn’t the Prime Minister, but since he didn’t include a photo there’s no way to tell for sure. He’s in the girlfriend/editor/typist’s list of facebook friends, so I thought it would be clever to send him the same letter I sent to the other Gordon Brown. In the end, he’s probably just some random bloke in Scotland. I redacted his address in case I am wrong. We can’t have you dropping in on the Prime Minister!
Oh boy, I’m sure someone out there will take this seriously, and cite it as evidence that Obama isn’t actually President. Just you wait!
