Dear My Book

Dear My Book,
I am ashamed to admit I have a really large collection of digital images. It seems that if I take a photo, no matter how bad, I am just simply unable to delete it. I might as well not even have a trash can when it comes to my images.
So I jumped online to see what was the largest drive possible I could buy. It looks like it's the 2TB "My Book Studio Edition II" (I have need of either an eSATA or firewire connection). Anyway, your specs say this drive is capable of holding "Up to 571,400 digital photos." This just isn't enough for my collection of porn. Yes, I know, I have a problem, but I also have nearly a million shots of women in various states of undress (no, I didn't take them all, but I still have them).
Right now my collection spans a hodgepodge of hard drives, sadly, including my girlfriend's computer (don't tell her!), so I was wondering when I could expect to see the 3 or 4TB edition? Should I hold off, or should I bite the bullet and just buy two 2TB drives?
Any suggestions would be helpful.
Thanks,
Christopher L. Jorgensen

My reaction:
The editor/girlfriend/typist didn’t get to go over this one before posting, so all errors are mine! She’ll send me an email in time to fix any tupos before breakfast.
This story is mostly true. Well, other than the porn. That all fits on my 2 gig flash drive (I know, I am a lightweight).
I was looking for a massive storage solution. Since “My Book” didn’t write back, I went with a couple eSATA enclosures from Tiger Direct and a couple cheap drives. For less than $100 a pop I get way faster drives, and they are expandable. Need more space? A $20 enclosure and a $80 drive, and I am set for a long time!
I would have bought the “My Book,” if they had said a 4TB drive was coming out soon (maybe). I have no idea if it has yet, and am happy with my solution, even if it meant I had to buy a $70 card for my laptop and a $40 card for my desktop. The speed is amazing, the drives are cheap, and it’s super easy to add capacity!
