Dear Play-Do

Dear Play-Do,

I was just wondering if there are any adverse effects of long term consumption of Play-Doh. Also, I don't see nutritional information on the side of the can.

For nearly 33 years now I've taken an occasional nibble of your product. Mostly just to see if it tastes like I remember. It's had a pretty consistent flavor over the years! I still remember fondly my first taste of Play-Do when I was in kindergarten, just as I am sure you remember your first time.

Anyway, I found this recipe:

1 cup flour
1/2 cup salt
1 cup water
1-2 tablespoons oil
1 tsp cream of tarter.
few drops of food coloring

But just like I prefer to buy my pastries at the baker's I prefer my Play-Do to be out of a can! I'm not asking you to list your ingredients (trade secrets and all), but it would be nice to have some idea of what I am eating. It would also reassure me if I knew it was made in the good old USA! I am deathly afraid of that melamine stuff.

Thanks for your time.

Sincerely,

Christopher L. Jorgensen

My reaction:

Come on, every kid eats it. Shouldn’t we know whether it plays a nutritional part of your day?
