Keeping this site up and running takes more time and money than one would think. I'm not going to break down the financials because it's too difficult to keep a running tally. I have hosting, domain registration, a PO Box, CMS license, paper, advertising, envelopes, drugs, and postage. Postage costs alone have now landed in the hundreds of dollars.

Advertising:

If you don’t want to donate please consider advertising on this site. I get around 2,000 page loads a day. That’s not tons of visitors, but I also don’t charge much for an ad, and my readers are more loyal than most. I get the same people returning to the site time and again. Most of these people are tech oriented and have sites of their own.

Create a 150x300 ad in .jpg or .png format (no animated gifs or flash) and I will put your ad into my rotation. You let me know how much you’re wanting to spend and where you want to link to, and once I approve your graphic (and the site) we’ll negotiate how long your ad will be on jackassletters.com. The more ads I accept the less often each will appear (I have a limited number of ad spots). I want to insure that you’re happy with your results and will want repeat placement. To be clear though, this is still more or less a donation, as I provide no tracking, no click through rates, impression reports, nor guarantee results.

$50 for a year sounds fair to me, but you let me know what you think and maybe we’ll work something out.

I need to figure out a way for this site to be sustainable long term. If not financially, then at least artistically and creatively. I need to get out what I put in (or I won't do it forever). Without support I will consider putting jackassletters.com into an archive only mode where the letters will stay available, but no new ones will appear. I don't want this to happen, you don't want this to happen, so consider supporting this site with one of the above methods!
